Once again, I am back at it, aiming to ride 1,000km on my vintage 20+ year-old single-speed bmx bike. I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to help fight kids' cancer!

for the past three years a mix of health and life challenges saw me fall short of my 1,000km goal (within the month). However, I did keep riding beyond the month and managed to surpass my goal. This year, despite some continued challenges, I am gonna try again to hit my 1,000km goal within the month!

Cancer is the biggest killer of children, from disease, in Canada. It's also something I became very aware of at about age 8, when a younger cousin was diagnosed and subsequently lost his battle with it.

It has also claimed the lives of a school friend, a family friend, Ty's grandparents, an uncle of mine, my maternal grandfather, and my parents.

To say it's rough on adults is a massive understatement. It's something that nobody should experience. This is especially true of kids, who should be living life – not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds to support these kids, and to help SickKids Foundation continue their important work in developing treatments and cures for childhood cancer.
