James

James is my inspiration to ride each year, as well as all the kids who are fighting cancer. James is the reason I started to ride back in 2016 - you see James was diagnosed with cancer at 7 months. I worked with James' Dad and I remember Dad's anguish along with feelings of helpless of not being able to protect James. I was thinking how does a baby get cancer and then I saw the challenge of the GCCC! I knew this was something I could do to help kids like James. James fought his cancer and within 6 months of treatment went into remission and then it came back a year later - he fought again and won!! He is soon to be 6 and as you can see he is doing well. His parents, sister and me too are so happy to see his smiles! I donated my 2016 jersey to him in hopes that one day maybe he will join the GCCC!! Keep it up James - you are my inspiration!!

My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
