My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Unfortunately, in late summer of 2024 one of my best friend’s daughter was diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma. Her journey began with the removal of a very large 6lb tumour from her abdomen, along with one of her kidneys. She then had radiation, followed by an aggressive 36 week chemotherapy treatment plan. Our little lipstick loving Ella Bella Brave is far more than a statistic though … she’s kind, she’s beautiful, & she is ONLY 4!
This August I will be riding with my son Grayson (10), to raise awareness to children’s cancer; but mostly to support this great cause. The Hospital for Sick Children has been the largest pillar to Ella’s journey, right from early stages of diagnosis, straight through her treatment & recovery process. While Ella is still in the treatment process, we are hopeful for a positive outcome!

Summer finally came ☀️🚲
8 Jul 2025Gray & I have finally been able to consistently set out for some outdoor training rides. It’s been HOT but we’re loving every single minute of it!
Grayson is setting goals each ride and tracking everything on STRAVA. He’s trying to get some PRs throughout certain segments of each ride he does! We can’t wait for August 1st!!!

While she’s officially CANCER FREE, Ella will still undergo close follow up care at Sick Kids for the foreseeable future.

Interval training for our smallest rider
19 May 2025This morning Gray started interval riding to get him prepped for the outdoor hills 🚵🏽♂️
Working hard & never giving up is his biggest strength & that’s why I’m so happy he’s agreed to join me in this ride! 💙
Mother Nature hasn’t been cooperative this year so far, so getting outside to ride has been a challenge, but we will get there & we will be ready to crush AUGUST!

2 May 2025Today is a monumental day in Ella’s journey! Her last day of CHEMO! Every single day since September Ella has shown strength, determination & resilience! She is the true definition of a real life superhero!
Her fight isn’t quite over yet, but there’s light at the end of this very long & dark tunnel!
Thank you for following along & please pray for some warmer weather so Grayson & I can start hitting the outdoor roads really soon! ☀️🚲

Mother Nature isn’t happy!
2 Apr 2025Well, we had planned on getting out for a few short rides, but so far … Mother Nature hasn’t co-operated! I took Grayson for a ride last year in the wind & his poor legs were pedalling so fast but his bike was at a stand still! I promised him he wouldn’t have to ride in those conditions again!
In the meantime, we’ve done a few indoor rides & some strength training exercises!
Cross your fingers for nice weather soon!

INTRODUCING GRAYSON 🩶
25 Feb 2025Grayson is 10 & last year he really found his passion for riding, right along his mama!
Mason, Ella’s big brother is great friends with Grayson & when Gray found out who & what I was riding for this year, without hesitation he insisted on joining!
Last year he set a 25km ride goal & had no problem crushing that! I’m confident this summer that he will push his limits for our Ella!
We will be starting our training March 1st for the big month in August!
