I'm Riding For

Josee and Marc

Most unfortunately I have to add my wife, Josee's, name to this. I now ride for her and my dear friend Marc. Josee was diagnosed in September 2024 with the most aggressive breast cancer, triple negative. She has been battling the disease ever since, principally with chemotherapy. Any prayers or good vibes you can send our way will be greatly appreciated. My best friend, Marc Rouleau, succumbed to cancer April 5, 2020. I don't have enough space here to tell you what a great person he was. Just an outstanding father, military leader, husband, professional. I'll continue to ride in Marc's memory this year. Neither was afflicted with a childhood cancer. I will continue to ride in support of the fight against childhood cancer. I think that's ok as what ever we can do to fight childhood cancer will help in the general fight against cancer. When you and I get a chance to speak please ask me about Marc and how Josee is doing.

My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! I've pledged to ride 1,800 km during the month of August. Believe me this will be a real challenge. This year's big ride is Toronto to la ville de Quebec, Aug 17-21, with a day off in Ottawa. We're also planning to conquer again Toronto to the Welland Canal and back (280km). My son Nathan is able to join me again for this summer's rides.

Cancer remains the #1 killer of children from disease in Canada. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

Of the 1,700 children who are diagnosed with cancer each year in Canada about 25% of these brave kids are treated at SickKids Garron Family Cancer Centre. So, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
