This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? 37 year ago, my little 18 month old daughter, Alison, was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma; this is the disease that Terry Fox had and died from. For the next two years it was an intense regimen of hospitals, chemo and surgery. Part way through, I feared that we would lose her. Thankfully, she was one of the lucky ones, and is now 45 years old with three beautiful children.

However, still today, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year; it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

My goal is to support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
