The rain continued through the night. The outdoors low spots are still draining water.
The Coffee group Ladies was my priority for this morning where I shared my progress on this GCC.
The August 13 Wednesday Matching Day news is exciting! Next action is to let my email donor letter people know that is the day I want support because it really helps the Kids more.
So if you are just browsing my page, this is a nudge to consider a donation to make sure the whole match amount goes to this important research.
The weather forecast had a 'rain and thunder storm later in day' of 30% chance.
I felt as if the start switch was broken all morning!
After 12;30 antibiotics, I got the bike onto the driveway and once I headed west the rolling went well. I had a route to a stretch of new pavement in mind but could see a dark cloud really close.
It was fun to see a group of children out with the Pedalheads bike camp. At 12 km, I walked up 3/4 of Sikome Hill climb! I found a surprise at mailbox stop before getting home; Marie's bouquet of flowers in a very thick card. That was a reward for going another km loop to stop at the box!
Thanks to my ski friend ,Tom W. who rides with friends every Wednesday, I enjoyed a long ride in my favourite Fish Creek paths today!
It was definitely a ride that was a lot about socializing,
After about 4 hours, we had travelled 20 km.
My bike worked very well after the crankshaft clean up. I walked the top of the steep climbs so my muscles could work longer. Tomorrow will likely be a short ride in under 45 minutes.
My wheels were given cleaning service on August 1 after my first ride, but they have been parked.
I've had another round of illness from contaminated water I consumed on July 15. This round is worse than the first but the antibiotics are reducing the worst symptoms.
I see the sun shining and I may have energy to just loop around my local streets, very near home, to add 3 km this evening.
The morning was going well because it wasn't raining and David and I could do the front yard grass cutting and matching garden jobs before I would do a ride.
Recovery from the e-coli threw a curve. the tummy rumbles hit and it occurred to me I had accidentally consumed lactose loaded food on Friday! I'm not riding today.
I will try 5 km in the morning tomorrow and maybe some later in the day!
August 1seemed far away until I became ill from an e-coli variation of bacteria on July16.
My daily riding goals are reduced now. My doctor says I'm recovering well, but this makes a serious change in my energy levels!
I have a lot more empathy now for patients doing the chemo with various cancer treatments.
Instead of a 10 km ride, I may have to choose two 5km rides in a day. I used to easily ride 20 km in one ride...............
