My smartwatch's GPS didn't catch where I started (see GPS green dot) when I started but it did end where I started (see the black flag) and it only recorded 10 KM of the 11 KM my E-Bike recorded during my low training day this week for the Great Cycle Challenge Canada .
I thought it was going to be 73°F/24°C during my ride after coming home from grocery shopping, but by the time I got the groceries put away it dropped to the low 60s and when I got home from my ride it was 59°F here in East Riverside Windsor Ontario.
Despite that I peddled 26.7 KM to a mixed rock playlist and an all women's 1990's playlist that I put together for myself on YouTube Music. I like to peddle to music but my husband likes to peddle to talk podcasts.
I rode with my 69 yr. old husband today and we were able to go farther than the last time we rode 15.9 Kms. It was nice and warm today, so warm I wish I would have worn my shorts. We took a few trails around the East part of Windsor Ontario and stopped to check out the wild life and flowers on the trees. Anyway we had to stop riding at 15.9 Kms because I could sit on my bike seat anymore and my husband's knee had met their limit. Not bad for only the 4 time out on a bike since the beginning of March 2025. I can see that our bike riding training is ahead of schedule this year. See the picture showing slight difference from my bike odometer reading of 15.9, being 15.69 Kms from smartwatch.
Today April 24, 2025 and today was my first serious bike riding training day for GCCC 2025 to fight Children's Cancer.
This year I am riding in honour of my friend Linda Hompath who died in March 2025, had many of the same interests, talents and age as me.
Today I rode just over 11 kms. This year I am hoping to get each ride up to 25 to 30 kms. See picture.
