We Are Riding For
Kristina Szutor

This year, we’re riding in memory of our dear colleague and friend, Dr. Kristina Szutor, who passed away in November 2024. Kristina was a beloved member of the Memorial University School of Music, an extraordinary pianist, dedicated educator, and generous soul who touched the lives of so many students and colleagues. Her warmth, humour, and quiet strength created a sense of welcome and belonging in our community. Whether in the studio, the classroom, or a passing hallway conversation, Kristina had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and supported. As faculty and staff of the School of Music, we ride to honour her legacy, and to raise funds for life-saving cancer research through the Great Cycle Challenge. Every kilometre and every dollar is a tribute to the care, passion, and kindness Kristina shared with all of us. We ride for Kristina.

This August, Cycle of Fifths is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So we are raising funds through our challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support us by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
