THE EAST COAST CRUISERS TEAM RIDE BBQ-GRILL & CHILL Route Test Ride today!

Well Char & I took to the roads and did a FULL EVENT TEST RUN.

**Started with Parking at Sackville KINSMEN'S Hall Parking lot.

My thoughts are we will be among the first there Sat am, so No Worries!

As an over flow, there is the Mall across the street and The Arena beside us with tons of Parking too.

**Started our Apps and started rolling. On a bike you notice elevation change, and I had a couple ask if there were large hills? So I have modified the route removing the steepest hill climbs that may prevent some from participating.*** See New Route Map

WoW! 44, then 45, then 46 now 47 MEMBERS of THE EAST COAST CRUISERS!!!!!! 3 more to 50!

So, after hrs of calls with 311 & DNR, there is No Part of any Trail available for use for us. Having said that,

I began Working on Local Paved Subdivision/Cul-de-sac much less traveled road options for our Team Ride!

This is what I worked out.

This is examples of what to expect if you join us Sat Aug 16th.

Meet in KINSMENS Parking lot.

I will be there at or before 8:30am getting ready & Setting up BBQ Gear Tables & Decorating Bikes!

Ride will start at 10am

Expect to be back at Kinsmen's hall by 11:00-11;15 am ish.

BBQ- GRILL & CHILL Social 11:30am to 1pm with Hot Dogs and Hamburgers & Drinks & Snacks for All!

RSVP as soon as you can so we bring lots for you all!

We now have over 20 CONFIRMED so far, and 2 in the last hour! Seems this location and Ride appeals to more riders! AWESOME!

It's going to be like a Parade!

I will be in Front Leading the Route, and we will have more experienced Riders spread out throughout the pack with a Highly Visible Caboose Rider doing clean up duties at the rear!

I am working on getting a Videographer/Photographer to catch some of our footage as we Parade around Sackville.

If anyone knows of someone who would like to follow us in a car and grab many short(20-30 sec.) video clips & Pictures of our rolling Group as we drive by them, and then they drive by us, Let me know! Can be anyone with a Phone and decent Camera in it, and that most up to date phone these days!

UPDATE; NS Provincial Tail Closure due to EXTREME FIRE RISK.

Hey everyone

By now most of you have heard the news....

It's with a heavy heart I share with you that our G.C.C., EAST COAST CRUISERS TEAM Ride, from CFB Shearwater to Lawrence Town Beach is unfortunately CANCELED due to ALL NS Trails Closed until Oct 15th 2025.

Sorry to all who planned on traveling to & attending as we approached 24 riders confirmed from 3 provinces this would have been our largest ride yet.

With ALL THE TRAILS CLOSED in NS, this will impact the Distance Goals we all have as we primarily use Rails to Trails to peddle 95% of our Kms. In light of this Provincial Ban and Trail Closure,

Please be Creative & Manually Add & log Kms for your steps Shopping for Food and clothes etc.. Any workouts ie(Badminton for 2hrs is 13,000 to 15,000 steps on average which = 5kms) Surfing for 3-4hrs is 5kms, your daily walk is a couple kms, together they all add up!

Champions Pivot, Adapt & Improvise! Lets Do This!

People can still access beaches and parks, but trail systems are off limits.

Char and I are still shooting for 50 EAST COAST CRUISERS this year before Aug 31st!

We invited in 3 new Teammates in the last 3 days over the weekend, just bumping into GCC riders on the trails and while out riding!

If anyone has a Friend or Family Member, Coworker, Neighbor, Grandson, Grand Daughter, Niece or Nephew that would Commit to 1km and at least 1 dollar raised, sign them up!

Don't you guys look awesome! Wow, what a great start to the month! Well we already had 12 Riders confirmed, and tonight I got confirmation of 3 more so now we are at 15 CONFIRMED RIDERS with 2 weeks to go!

Hey, be on the look out for other GCC Riders and do not be afraid to invite them to our team! Yeah they have everything already done, all they have to do is look us up and hit JOIN TEAM, and they are in! Would love to hit 50 Teammates by Aug 31st, just my personal goal.

Day #1 GCC R & C Ride, Grand Pre down towards Berwick. 79.7 kms total return.

Went to the north shore to avoid the rain on day 1 and had a great early ride from Grand Pre down towards Berwick NS. 79.7km return. Met Kevin West and Lowell Sams and both said they will look us up and join!
