My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

So I guessed wrong on how much more I needed to ride and came up .02 of a Km short of my 300 KM for this month. I'll probably add another 5 to 10 KMs tomorrow. I'm also very much short on the fund raising because Windsor Ontario and friends and family members have been hit hard this year financially because of the Carney Ford Tariff/Fentanyl issue with the USA. Windsor Tecumseh ON is in a recession. If you're still doing well financially please donate to help the children and teens fighting Cancer. Their parents can't help them alone.

I wanted to ride earlier and more than I did but things got in the way today. My dryer is taking way too long to dry my clothes. I had to run each load 2x to it to dry. I also had to visit my new car's dealership. I passed the car dealership on my bike ride today. I was hoping to do 30 KM today but no dice.

The cooler weather felt much better to ride in today. I actually was kind of chilly when I began but warmed up nicely heading west on Tecumseh Rd when the sun was in my face but it was enjoyable today.

Tomorrow it's supposed to rain but I'm not sure when and for how long. Both weather apps show rain most of the day.

Today was very much a rush day. Lots happened. Smokey in the morning but we were busy with making a major purchase and it was almost an all-day thing. But when we got back both my husband and I changed into our riding gear and we rode our bikes. Thankfully the smoke lifted some. The map of my ride is in my ride's thing.

“Thanks Debbie my pal! It's been really hot and smoky most of the first part of August, so I with asthma couldn't ride those days. When I could ride I rode from 15 kms a ride to 24 kms or so. Hopefully I can ride upto 25 KMS on the days that are in the 70s.”
